Hi Evie,
What a great tribute to your gr-grandparents, that you were there. I can only imagine the flood of emotions you felt. I witnessed a Stolpersteine dedication in Vilnius in 2016. We stumbled on it by chance. The woman being honored, Fania Lewando, owned and operated a very popular pre-war kosher restaurant, a favorite dining place of many notable Jews. I was intrigued as I had purchased her cookbook, The Vilna Vegetarian, once it was translated into English.
Coming face to face with the history and legacy of Eastern Europe can jar one's soul.
