Thank you, Kim. I hope your daughter is doing well, with good medical care. I'm sure she appreciates your loving support, even if she can't easily express what she's feeling. It's taken me years to speak about what this disease means to me. I'm so glad that my words are of help to you, and, I hope, to your daughter, as well.

I just ran across your blog this morning via Facebook. My heart breaks to hear you describe the reaction to your hands with the cold. My daughter, 18, too has Scleroderma/Raynauds. She is a quiet spirit, keeps most things to herself, so to have the opportunity to hear you describe how your hands feel gives me some insight into my daughters unspoken days. Thank you for sharing.

In reply to <a href="https://livingwithscleroderma.com/harbingers/#comment-1177">Kerry</a>.

I know the feeling. It's frustrating and awkward to be all bundled up when others are in summery clothes. It does take getting used to. I try to be creative with my layering, so I still feel like I have a sense of style, using colors, patterns and fabrics that make me feel good.

Stress will also bring on the Raynaud's with a vengeance. I hope you're able to take some time to yourself in addition to being there for your kids!

I thought I was doing ok, until all day watching three games for three different children's three different sports on three different fields brought out the raynauds in my toes. Not until 6om did it happened, but I have to get used of this. I am in gloves and heavy socks when others are in flip flops...

Thanks, Pat. I was a bit wary to write that my hands are doing this well at this time of year, so as not to jinx them! But so far, so good. And I like your alternate name for spring! Very appropriate.

Your written thoughts so perfectly and eloquently describe how I feel. Thank you for putting into words that which I have trouble verbalizing.

So glad to read this good report on your hands, Ev, and I enjoyed your poetic description of this raw New England season. It deserves its own name; "spring" does not seem quite right. I associate it with Passover, since this is the weather that usually accompanies the holiday. Maybe we should call it "Mitzraim," the narrow place through which we have to squeeze to get to real spring and warmer weather.
