Kudos Evie on this powerful as well as wonderful post with its hopeful ending. I, too, was at the beach Sunday and Monday, in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. That is where we took our children for so many summers. And just as you reported it was restorative for me—the same delicious pier fries, beautiful beaches, kites flying in the wind, and groups of people doing the simple, everyday things on a beautiful New England beach. It helps to be present with others in such moments.
