You’ll enjoy Art’s book, I’m sure. Yes, there is always so much going on this time of year, and it’s so important to step aside and reflect, even if it weren’t the High Holy Days. (A good book that ties to the holiday themes also helps when the liturgy feels a bit obscure.)

You are on the same quest as Ahab, in a way–trying to reach beyond the reality we can discern with our senses. It is difficult to articulate experiences that can hardly be put into words.

You make me want to read Art Green’s book, too. My work life always heats up just as the High Holydays arrive, interrupting the reflection that should be a part of this time of year. It would be good to anchor those thoughts to a book.
