Your body’s response to the medication makes me think the illness is indeed shingles. I got the vaccine because I’ve known a couple of people who’ve had much worse cases than yours and I wanted the protection. Whether or not people get the vaccine, you’ve done a good deed by alerting everyone to a disease that our over-fifty age group is prone to.
