I thought of you when I heard of this unGodly event in Pittsburg and about all of my Jewish friends both here in North Carolina and my long time homes in NY and CT. This is not the America that I grew up in. I too came of age in the 1960's and was an active participant in both Civil Rights and anti-war movements. However, even when violence reached these, there were enough people of good and humane sensibilities on both sides to temper the extreme elements in both camps and, eventually, find the way to reason. Having a president whose first words about the Pittsburgh massacre were that the synagogue should have had "protection" was, to my mind, absolutely frightening. this is not the America I want for my child and grandchildren and is not the America I want to live in.
VOTE. Whether Republican, Democratic or Independent, there are people of good faith and reason who can work to restore the America I expect - no demand we have.
